GIVE UP ACTIVISM

Bring a newspaper of your choice.
Bring something that can go in a salad.

I probably don't have to tell you to bring your phones, because ...you know, we all have our phones anyway. So, what's going to happen at this workshop? We're going to think about and look at what's happening in the world right now. This sounds a bit vague. Let's try this: I'd like to spend some time with you talking about how all art is political and why there is no such thing is political art. Ok, sounds better. We'll also talk about visual culture and what we as artists and cultural producers could do to add some humour and complexity to the current political debates. If you have time, I'd like you to read a text before the workshop: Google Give Up Activism and it should come up.

Rosalie Schweiker (*1985) is an artist. Her harddrive recently crashed, so she's lost all her CVs, bio blurbs and taglines. She has yet to summon the energy to sit down and write them again.
