Letters to My Dearie
Fiona Larkin

Fiona Larkin is an Irish artist living and working in Newcastle Upon Tyne. She works mainly in photography and moving image which stems from a practice of performance to camera work. She is concerned with ideas of perspective shift, of long looking and the possibility for alongsideness as a productive and creative structure.

For her event at Northern Charter, Larkin will stage a series of video and sculpture works that engage with the writing of Vernon Lee and Clementina Anstruther-Thomson. The videos are made in response to Lee and Anstruther-Thomsons' ideas of embodied empathic perception, and use gestures and details to foreground the intimacy of this kind of enquiry.
